ANKA unveils a new artistic collaboration with PAB, a rising figure in digital pop art. Inspired by Japanese culture and the contemporary geek world, this watch features an original work by the artist on its dial: Portrait of a Dark Samurai .
About the work
Created specifically for the collaboration with Anka, the work created by artist Pab for the watch dial is titled "Portrait of a Dark Samurai." This digital painting depicts a dark samurai at the foot of a cherry blossom tree. The artist's technique is thus well represented, as it consists of digitally applied layers of paint, giving a sense of relief and depth.
About the artist
Born in 1990 in the south of France, PAB is an emerging Pop artist. Finding inspiration in the twists and turns of popular culture, diving headfirst into the multiple worlds of pop and geek culture, he is today known for his innovative creations in the art world.
His passion for contemporary icons such as Star Wars, Marvel, and Warhammer 40,000 is reflected in a bold and energetic way in each of his creations.
Originally from Cannes, a city where visual art and culture blend harmoniously, he expressed his creativity through photography and digital design from a young age.
Self-taught, PAB learned digital art through forums, tutorials, and experimentation. He then embarked on an artistic exploration that led him to discover the infinite possibilities offered by digital tools.
Armed with a graphics tablet, a stylus and an indomitable passion for art, he learned about digital creation through several innovative techniques.
Pab's creative process centers around the application of multiple layers of digital paint, carefully layered, to create unique depth and texture.
The artist uses a variety of cutting-edge tools and software to simulate the flatness of digital paint. The end result is a fusion of traditional art and the infinite possibilities offered by the digital world.
