The time display on the RTO's dashboard is provided by an optically pure periscopic sapphire crystal. This pentahedral crystal block projects the horizontal hour and minute discs vertically, as its surfaces are oriented towards the movement and the "dashboard" display.
Amida made its Digitrend watch in the 1970s using a plastic glass, dubbed "Light Reflective Display." We use sapphire crystal for optically pure precision and magnification.

The case shape and overall design are inspired by a pivotal period in the history of mechanical watchmaking. In the mid-1970s, the digital craze took off thanks to precise, battery-powered quartz movements. Many watchmakers went bankrupt in the face of what turned out to be one of the greatest threats to the entire mechanical watch industry. Some designers decided to offer complications with a digital representation of the time on the dial, with a more “digital” display. Jumping hour discs, in particular, gave a similar impression to the new LED watches: after each 60-minute cycle, the hour disc “jumps” to the next digit. The Hudson Instalite, Richard Insantim, Cauny Digital Jumph Hour, Arsa Directime, Bali Enicar Jumphour, Bulova Automatic Jumphour N4, Basis Digital and Secura Equisit are all examples of jumping hour watches offered in a sporty version.
