BEHRENS Inventor Collection – Batman Tourbillon
The tourbillon is one of the historical mechanisms of the watchmaking industry. It is now often considered a tribute to classic watchmaking. To perpetuate this know-how and to celebrate the 85th anniversary of the famous superhero, BEHRENS collaborated with Warner Brothers and designed a brand new watch, “The Dark Knight.” The Dark Knight is a 38 mm round-case, hand-wound wristwatch powered by the Caliber BM05, a skeletonized tourbillon movement developed in-house. The watch is limited to 200 pieces.
The functions
To further expand BEHRENS' watchmaking expertise and capability, we took on the challenge of building this brand-new, one-of-a-kind tourbillon exclusively for Batman's 85th anniversary. For this new timepiece, we created a new 38mm diameter round case to house the new in-house hand-wound movement, Caliber BM05. The tourbillon mechanism features a luminous Batman logo that completes one rotation every 60 seconds. Meanwhile, this skeletonized tourbillon movement also features a power reserve indicator at 1:30, a black and white globe-style Day/Night indicator at 9:30, and a date window at 6:00.
The case
The round case has been coated in black to match the Batman theme, with sapphire crystals on the top and bottom, making the movement visible. The case lugs are openworked to add a touch of surface coating.
The bracelet
Each of these "The Dark Knight" wristwatches will be presented with two rubber straps (orange or black, each with the Batman logo) with a quick-change mechanism.
Power reserve: 38 h, 28800 vph Skeleton movement
