After restoring an antique pocket watch with an expanding hand in 1997, Parmigiani reproduced this expanding hand structure in its own brand. The traditional expanding hand structure can be simply understood as allowing the lever-operated end of the hand to open and close along the path of an elliptical cam, while pivoting.
